Soul by Ludacris challenges Beats by Dre for premium headphone supremacy

It’s a real rap battle here at Mobile Fun this week – Soul by Ludacris faces off Beats by Dre. This article will have a look at the new challenger Ludacris, and we’ll get to Dr. Dre in our next article later today.

Soul by Ludacris is a new brand of high range headphones, including in-ear headphones and on-ear headphones. There are two in-ear headphones: the SL49 Ultra Dynamic (on the left) and the SL99 High-Def Sound Isolation (on the right).

Both offer considerable audio quality in a very convenient package; perfect for keeping in your pocket throughout the day. The in-ear headphones include a gold-plated connector for excellent audio quality and an in-line remote control that works with iPhone. There is also a tangle-free cable to ensure your headphones don’t get snagged and you can listen comfortably whilst lying on your side. Each headset comes with ear tips of various sizes to ensure a good fit, too.

The two in-ear headsets are differentiated by audio quality and noise isolation  levels, as you’d expect, but both offer much better quality sound than any in-ear headphone that’s included with your smartphone.

There are three more Soul by Ludacris headphones in the more common over-ear configuration: The SL100RB Ultra Dynamic (left), the SL150BW Pro High-Definition (centre) and the SL300WB Pro High-Definition Noise Cancelling (right).

These  headset offers increasingly excellent sound quality and noise isolation, with each including a 3.5 mm jack, in-line remote compatible with Apple devices and a very comfortable fit. The top-of-the-line model, the SL300WB, also includes battery power for extra bass and illumination for extra presence.

These Soul by Ludacris over-ear headphones are available in the following colours: SL100RB red and SL100RB blueSL150BW white and SL150BW black; and SL300WB black. That should give you plenty of room to find the perfect model.

If you’re interested in these headphones, they should be arriving at Mobile Fun this week and you can pre-order now. We’ve had a lot of interest in these, so pre-ordering might be a good idea!

So what do you reckon? Looks like a strong lineup to me, but perhaps fans of Beats by Dre would disagree. Let us know via the comments below, or post your impressions on Twitter or Facebook.
