Sony SmartWatch coming soon!

Smart watches are all the rage these days. These touch-screen watches connect to your phone via Bluetooth, allowing you to see (and even control) a number of your phone’s functions – you can see who’s calling you, control your music and even take pictures remotely.

The latest and greatest of these is the Sony SmartWatch, and it’ll soon be in stock at Mobile Fun.

The watch itself is well constructed, with the 1.3” OLED display wrapped in an fetching aluminium frame. The display itself is bright and clear, and runs at a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels – more than enough for a screen of that size. The capacitive display supports two finger multitouch, unlocking more input possibilities than you’d think possible on such a small screen.

One of the SmartWatch’s biggest assets is its looks – unlike other smart watches, the Sony model is well made and looks stylish, akin to a high-end digital watch. As well as the provided watch strap, you’ll also be able to buy an adapter which will allow it to fit upon any standard watch strap, letting you pick one that matches your own style.

Unlike most smart watches, which ship with only a few apps preinstalled and no option to add more, the Sony SmartWatch allows you to install new watch apps, unlocking additional functionality. You’re able to read incoming texts, email messages and tweets as advertised, and the music and camera controls are particularly useful.

Compatibility seems to be best with Sony-built phones as you’d expect, but it should work with all Android phones that support Bluetooth 2.0.
