We’ve got quite a cool potential Christmas gift in today – an awesome Bluetooth watch made by Sony Ericsson, the MBW-150 Music Edition.
The watch connects to your Sony Ericsson Android phone (and others… see below!), showing you incoming notifications like calls and texts on its integrated OLED display, as well as the currently playing track. You can control your phone surreptitiously as well, using the watch’s buttons to skip tracks and adjust the volume.
While the watch is designed to work with Sony Ericsson phones, enterprising developers at the XDA forums have designed an OpenWatch framework which should allow it to work with all Android 2.0+ phones. Check the thread for more details; Mobile Fun can’t officially support the software but it does look quite promising.
All in all, it’s a lot of fun to use and looks great. The watch itself is high quality and looks cool and contemporary, and with the added functionality it’s incredibly useful as well. The watch originally retailed for £130 but now comes in at under £50.
