Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Races Out

Samsung‘s latest slate, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, is one of the few real competitors to the iPad 2 – so much so that Apple have tried, and mostly failed, to stop the tablet from being sold. It’s a sign of fear from Apple, and with good reason; the Android market has been growing significantly and is more of a credible threat thanks to its tablet-focused variant, Honeycomb.

Another worry for Apple is the pure technical prowess of the Android tablets, and the Galaxy Tab is the current ruler of the rooster here. The high-spec tablet has a 10.1″ screen, a dual core processor and a full gigabyte of RAM, making it significantly faster than the iPad. It runs the tablet-focused Android OS Honeycomb as well, meaning that flash video plays natively, something that’s long been a failing of the iOS devices.

They’ve got a fairly interesting promo as part of their ‘World of Tab’ coverage out at the moment about how the Samsung Crescent Racing team, a competitor in the British Superbike Championship, leverages their Samsung Galaxy Tab technology advantage to improve their lap times and study the track.

While using the Galaxy Tab  did seem to help John Hopskins, who hadn’t ridden the track before, he finished outside the top ten for both races at Cadwell park later on. Still, he performed well enough to ensure his spot in the final six showdown, which was his goal.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is certainly one of the best Android tablets available, so if you’re interested in keeping up to date with Samsung’s latest releases and promos, then you can check either their YouTube channel or their Facebook page.
