Our International Manager, Richard Moore, bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc and he loves it. It does have one small design flaw in that when you place it down on a hard surface, or bump it slightly the phone switches itself off. A nuisance that occurred up to a dozen times per day.
this is not a software fault, it is caused by the battery jumping out of it’s seat ever so slightly and causing a hard re-boot. Richard’s solution was to get a couple of felt pads from his daughter’s craft set and stick them to the inside of the back cover, and these dampen the battery movement sufficiently for the problem to cease.
Two Green Felt Pads Approx 1.5mm thick solved the problem.
It turns out that Richard is not the only person to have this issue, and modded the back cover themselves, mczakk has too.
