It’s been a busy few weeks for handset releases since the launch of Windows Phone 7. HTC, Samsung and LG have all released handsets running the latest mobile operating system, with even more manufacturers due to release handsets very soon.
The Optimus 7 is the first smartphone to be released from LG in quite a while and is set to be one of their best sellers. Early reviews on the Windows Phone 7 software are varied, and while the software may need a few updates to bring it up to par with Android and iOS, the handset features are strong enough to make this a great alternative to handsets such as the HTC Desire, Samsung Galaxy S and iPhone 4.
As with any smartphone though, you’ll need to get a few accessories if you want to get the most out of the phone, so I’ve spent some time reviewing our range of LG Optimus 7 accessories and have come up with 7 ‘must have’ accessories for the LG Optimus 7.

Dropping your Optimus 7 is almost guaranteed to damage it. The 3.8″ touch screen won’t need a lot of force to crack so it’s more than a good idea to protect it with a case. The Orbit Flex case from Krusell is a great way to protect the phone without covering the camera or getting in the way of the screen/buttons.
The front flap of the case can be detached to give you full, unrestricted access to the touchscreen of the phone. It uses a stitched leather pocket to keep your phone in place and has cut outs for the camera, charging port and volume keys.

Krusell Orbit Flex for LG Optimus 7
The Optimus 7 has a bigger screen, faster processor and is likely to be used even more than previous generations of windows mobile devices thanks to the increasing number of apps available from Windows Marketplace. It’s not so great for battery life though, with data connections drawing heavily on power.

Martin Fields Screen Protector – LG Optimus 7
Whether you use a case with your phone or not, you’ll want to protect the screen from scratches and dents. Some cases offer protection for the screen, but in most cases the screen is left exposed. These screen protectors from Martin Fields are exceptionally thin, crystal clear and don’t interfere with using the touch screen on the phone. They can be fitted in minutes and can be removed for cleaning and refitted.

If you’re planning on using your Optimus 7 in the car as your music source or Sat Nav system you’ll need a secure way of mounting it in the car. 16Gb of internal memory make the Optimus 7 a great alternative to carrying around a separate MP3 player. The headphones that ship with the phone aren’t bad, but if you don’t want to be tied to your phone with a wire, then it’s well worth investing in a set of bluetooth headphones.
The Jabra Halo is one of the best sets of headphones you can get. They have built in touch sensitive controls that allow you to change track, play/pause and increase the volume all without having to touch the phone.

This is one of my favourite accessories at the moment.
