Top 10 Accessories for the HTC Tattoo

There’s no question that Google’s Android operating system is becoming more popular. It had a slow start, but now that developers are getting behind it, the number of handsets running Android are increasing significantly. One of the latest to be released is the HTC Tattoo – a full touch screen handset with all the features you’d need, but at a much lower cost than high end devices such as the HTC Hero.

The Tattoo is small, light and easy to use and if you’ve got one, you’re going to want to use all of it’s features and keep it looking at its best. To do that you’ll need to invest in a few accessories to really get the most out of the phone, but with so many cases, covers, Bluetooth Headphones & Bluetooth Headsets available getting the best ones can be a challenge. To point you in the right direction, here’s a list of our top 10 accessories for the HTC Tattoo.

1. HTC Tattoo Screen Protector

The Tattoo has a bright 2.8″ touch screen and the last thing you’re going to want to do it is scratch it. The HTC Screen Protectors are the best quality screen protectors you can get for the Tattoo. They’re precision cut to size and can be removed easily and leave no residue behind. They’re re-usable too, so if it ever gets dirty, just take it off, run it under the tap and re-fit it.

2. HTC Tattoo 8GB Memory Card

The Android OS is all about internet, email, photo’s, music and videos, but with just 512MB of internal memory it still can’t really hold that much data. A large memory card will almost certainly be the first accessory you buy for your Tattoo . An 8GB memory card will allow you to store over 3000 high quality photos, 1500 songs or 40 hours of video. The Tattoo will work with Micro SD HC cards up to 16GB.

The Tattoo doesn’t do too badly when it comes to talk time, but as soon as you start emailing, going online or watching videos your battery will start to drain quite quickly so a car charger is a worthwhile investment. The genuine HTC Tattoo Car charger will work in both 12v and 24v vehicles (Cars, Lorries and Trucks). It has a Mini USB connection so will work with all Mini USB devices.

If you want to keep your phone charged while you’re sat at your desk, the easiest way to do so is with a desktop charger. This HTC Tattoo Dual Dock lets you charge your Tattoo and sync with your PC at the same time and has a port on the back to charge a second HTC Tattoo Battery.

5. HTC M300 Bluetooth Headset

The HTC M300 is based on the incredibly popular Jabra BT8040 Bluetooth Headset. It’s a small and lightweight headset that isn’t short on features. The simple controls allow you to answer & end calls, reject incoming calls, last number redialling, adjust the volume control and mute calls. One of the best features is that this headset is a multipoint bluetooth headset – this allows you to use the headset with two mobile phones at the same time.

6. Krusell Orbit Flex Case for HTC Tattoo

Krusell make some great cases, and the Orbit Flex range is one of their most popular. Once you’re connected by Bluetooth, you just need to launch the music app on your Tattoo, press play and your music will start to play through the speakers immediately. 8. Jabra BT3030 Stereo Bluetooth Headset

The Jabra BT3030 is a Stereo Bluetooth headset that will work for both calls and music. It comes with some standard wired in-ear headphones but as it has a standard 3.5mm headphone socket, you can use any 3.5mm headphones with it. The BT3030 supports the AVRCP Bluetooth Profile, which means you’ll be able to control your music playback from the headset and won’t have to touch your phone. The BT3030 will let you play/pause your music, answer/end calls and adjust the volume as well as skip tracks. The ‘Dog Tag’ style controls can be worn either around your neck or can clip on to your belt or clothes. The BT3030 is a mix of Bluetooth and Wired headphones. If you want to do without wires completely you’ll probably prefer the Jabra Halo.

9. Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth FM Car Kit

The Jabra SP700 has been a favourite of mine for a while, but it did fall short on a couple of features – namely noise cancelling and music playback controls. Thankfully, Jabra have just released the Cruiser, a small, slim portable car kit that adds both of these features to an already fantastic car kit. The Jabra Cruiser is a Bluetooth Car Kit that simply clips to the sun visor of your car and pairs to your HTC Tattoo using Bluetooth. The Cruiser supports both the A2DP and AVRCP profiles, so as well as being able to stream your music to it over Bluetooth for playback either through the built in speaker or through your car stereo using it’s built in FM Transmitter, you can now play/pause/track skip without having to touch your phone . The Jabra Cruiser will also play your phone calls through your car stereo speakers for improved clarity. The dual microphones in the cruiser work together to cut out background noise, making this a perfect choice for any one who spends a lot of time driving on motorways or noisy roads.

10. HTC Tattoo Car Holder by Brodit

The safest, easiest and legal way to use your Tattoo in the car is to have it mounted in a fixed holder. Brodit Car Holders are moulded specifically for your phone from a tough ABS plastic.
