Top 5 Cases for the Nokia N900

The Nokia N900 is unlike any other Nokia handset. It’s the replacement for the N800 Internet tablet, but Nokia have now decided to add phone support to them as well, making this a true smart phone. As it’s considerably larger than most other Nokia phones, finding a case for it isn’t going to be that easy, so to try and make finding one a bit easier for you, I’ve put this list together of my top Nokia N900 Cases.

1. Nokia CP-321 for N900

The first case on my list is my favourite of the bunch. It’s a simple fabric case that holds the N900 securely. It’s a snug fit, and with a micro fibre lining, should keep the phone pretty free of finger prints. As it’s a pouch style case, you’ll need to take the phone out when you need to use it, but in terms of protection, this offers the most out of the ones I tried. This type of case is best suited to those who carry their phone around in their bag or pocket. The Nokia CP-321 is available in Black or White.

2. Leather Flip Case for Nokia N900

The Leather Flip case is made with a hardened leather outer shell for increased durability and protection. The inside of the case has a stitched pocket to keep your phone in place. Convenient cutouts allow full access to side buttons, sockets, charger & memory card slots without compromising protection. The flip folds up from the bottom of the phone and is reinforced to protect the screen against knocks and scrapes and is held closed with a magnetic fastening. This type of case is better suited to those who primarily use the touchscreen as you’ll need to remove your phone in order to use the QWERTY keypad.

3. Krusell Hector Leather Case for Nokia N900

Although the Krusell Hector is a universal case, it’s a perfect fit for the Nokia N900. It’s a high quality leather case with a soft, suede effect lining that helps to keep your phone clean and protected against knocks and drops. The front flap of the case has a magnetic fastening and the Krusell logo is embossed into the leather. The case has a cut out on the bottom so that you can push your phone out quickly and easily. On the rear of the case are two stitched in belt loops that will allow you to securely fit the case to a belt or bag strap.

4. Nokia N900 Leather Carry Pouch

Similar in style to the Krusell Hector, the Carry pouch is a Leather case that covers all of the phone, and has a fold over flap with a magnetic fastening to keep your N900 in place. The rear of the case has a stitched belt loop, which means that the case can be attached to a belt/bag strap for added security. The case has a cut out on the bottom that makes it easier for you to push the phone out.

5. Nokia N900 InvisibleSHIELD

Technically this isn’t really a case, but it gives the same amount of protection against knocks and scrapes without adding any extra bulk to your phone. InvisibleSHIELDs are a tough, thin plastic film that covers all of your Nokia N900. It has a non slip feel which reduces the chance of it slipping out of your hand. It also has an anti reflective coating that eliminates reflections and reduces fingerprints. As InvisibleSHIELD’s are extremely thin, you can use them in conjunction with most of the other cases listed here.

  1. if the first case (CP-321) is the best (since it has no magnetic fastenings) thats unfortunate-some state its impossible to keep the phone in that case AND have headphones connected for music on the go! :( does anyone know of a non magnetic case thats possible to still use headphones with?

  2. Thanks for pointing this out. We tested the N900 cases using a dummy handset as we’ve not had stock of the sim free phones yet due to their exclusivity with Vodafone.

Interestingly though, the returns rate on all of the cases mentioned here are no higher than normal, and our most popular cases for the N900 are the flip case and carry pouch – both of which have magnets and a returns rate of less than 5% which would suggest that it doesn’t cause a problem for most users.

I’ll keep an eye on it and if things change I’ll update the post.
