How to download your Bluetooth Drivers

Installing Bluetooth Drivers:
In order for your new Bluetooth dongle to work correctly you will need to install some software or drivers to tell your computer how to use it. Windows XP Service Pack 2 has generic Bluetooth drivers built in to the operating system that will provide basic Bluetooth functionality but to make the most out of your dongle you will need to install specific drivers. This will then allow you to connect to other devices such as Bluetooth Headsets, Bluetooth Speakers, Photo Frames and Bluetooth Printers.

The software or drivers that are required are normally included on the CD that came with your dongle. If the disc has been lost or damaged, you can download the drivers for our range of Bluetooth dongles below:

Please be aware that BlueSoleil only provide a limited free trial. To continue using this software after the trial has finished will result in extra costs. If you don’t wish to pay for this software then we would recommend that you install your Dongle using the drivers built in to the Windows operating system and not BlueSoleil.

  1. Mac drivers should be built in to the leopard/snowleopard OS and you shouldn’t be asked for a cd

  2. If Bluetooth is pre-installed in your laptop, then the drivers will be too. If for any reason you’ve had to reinstall windows and need the drivers again, they should be on the recovery CD that came with your laptop.

  3. My laptop is compaq and it came with bluetooth software but their is know driver install in it so pls help me.

  4. Hi Julie,

Installation should only take a couple of minutes at most, it might be that there is another software program causing the installation disc to freeze.
You don’t really need the disc tho, as windows XP SP3 has bluetooth drivers built in already.

There are a couple of things you can try to get round this, but I’ll email you details on what to try rather than reply in the comments if that’s ok.

  5. Hi, I have purchased a bluetooth nano dongle, but when I insert it into a usb port I don’t get the yellow bubbles down by the clock. I also have the installation CD which I’ve tried but this gets ‘stuck’ at the point of doing bluetooth modem installation. How long is this meant to take? I have waited for over 15 mins for it to install. Eventually I have to force my laptop to close as I can’t close the installation. mobilefun have kindly sent a replacement in case the first one was faulty, but I still have the problem. I am working on Windows XP with SP3. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

  6. Have you managed to get it working? There are a couple of ways to force windows to find the drivers that I can talk you through if you want?

  7. Hi Rizzy,

If you don’t know which driver set your dongle uses, you can either try downloading them all and seeing which one works, or the safest and easiest option will be to use the drivers already built in to windows. To use these, simply plug the dongle into your computer and wait for the yellow bubbles to finish down by the clock

  8. What devices are you having problems with? have you made sure that the device you’re trying to find is not hidden and is in pairing mode so that other devices can connect to it?
