This year’s phone adds IP68 water resistance, Samsung Pay contactless payments and a USB-C reversible connector for charging. The phone also comes with a 4.7-inch 720p display, a 13-megapixel rear camera and runs Android Marshmallow.
Inside, you’ll find an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, all powered by a 2350mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) UK price
The Galaxy A5 (2017) will cost more than its smaller brother, coming in at £399 for a SIM-free and unlocked model with 32GB of internal storage.
For your money, you get a sleek 5.2-inch phone with Micro SD support, IP68 water resistance and a reversible USB-C port.
The screen resolution stays at 720p, but the A5 has a faster 1.9GHz octa-core processor, backed with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The battery is also bigger, at 3000mAh.
UK release date
The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) are expected to be released in the UK later this month and are available on pre-order right now.
