The Galaxy Note 7 is a heck of a phone — fast, powerful and capable. It’s definitely a phone that you don’t want to get scratched or cracked, so let’s take a look at some of the best tough Note 7 cases on the market that can stop that from happening. Ready, steady, go.

10. VRS Design Damda Glide
We start our rundown with the Damda Glide, which combines a protective layer of tough plastic with a clever hidden pocket. This pocket is big enough to store a couple credit cards, ID or other similarly-sized pieces of paper and plastic. There’s no obvious sign that the area opens, so casual observers won’t know that there’s anything inside. Very clever stuff.

9. Olixar ArmourDillo Hybrid Case
Next up is the Olixar ArmourDillo, a hybrid case that combines TPU and polycarbonate to form an impressive barrier against drops and falls. The ridged design also adds a lot of grip, reducing the chances of a drop in the first place. The case even includes a little kickstand on the back, letting you watch movies or glance at notifications without holding the phone.

8. Speck CandyShell Grip Case
The Speck CandyShell is one of the slimmest cases on this list, but it still offers decent protection against drops and scratches, courtesy of two reinforced layers. The case also includes textured finger pads, preventing the phone from slipping through your fingers or sliding off your (uneven) desk. It’s stylish too, in black or blue.

7. Spigen Neo Hybrid Case
The Neo Hybrid is another long-time favourite from Spigen, and as the name suggests this case is made from both polycarbonate and TPU layers. There’s a polycarbonate frame that provides rigidity and a TPU back cover which absorbs impacts; there’s also a 1.5mm lip around the screen to prevent any damage there. All in all, a slim and tough case for the Note 7.

6. OtterBox Symmetry Case
The OtterBox Symmetry Case is the only clear case on this list, offering good protection without sacrificing the naturally good looks of the Note 7. This case is also available in an opaque black shade, if you prefer. Both colours offer a scratch-resistant shell, with a raised bevelled edge to protect the phone, front and back.

5. Love Mei Powerful Case
The Love Mei case offers additional dust and water resistance to the Note 7, as well as a powerful ‘impact truss’ design that shrugs off even tough knocks and falls. The aluminium construction and ballistic bezels make this case one of the toughest overall cases on the market.

4. Spigen Tough Armor Case
Next up is Spigen’s Tough Armor case, which provides extreme protection from drops and scratches. A dual layer design of TPU and polycarbonate provide a significant barrier against damage, while a 2.0mm lip keeps the screen out of harm’s way in the event of a drop. The case also includes a kickstand which is brilliant for watching movies on the train.

3. UAG Protective Case
UAG’s simply-named Protective Case offers a good combination of cool looks and excellent protection. The case meets military drop test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6, to be specific), thanks to its rugged TPU design with a brushed metal insert for rigidity and damage absorption. It’s available in a range of colours too, including the eye-catching Magma shown here.

2. Patchworks Flexguard Case
Our silver medallist case this time is the Patchworks Flexguard, a clever case that combines flexibility and protection. The case includes a textured pattern that adds extra grip, easy access to all ports and features, and a classy design (especially in gold, as shown here). A truly elegant tough case that won’t let you down.

1. Zizo Bolt Tough Case
We conclude with a newcomer to the scene, the Zizo Bolt. This tough case looks the absolute business and backs it up with excellent protection that meets military drop standards. There’s also a built-in kickstand, a 40cm lanyard and a heavy-duty rotating belt clip included. It’s an awesome all-around case, and a worthy winner.
