Sony announced their latest smartphones today, the Xperia C5 Ultra and M5. The phones are both mid-range and selfie-focused, with impressive 13-megapixel front-facing cameras with flash. Let’s take a closer look at what they have to offer.
The C5 Ultra is a phablet, with a 6-inch 1080p display. Inside, you’ll find a MediaTek octa-core processor running at 1.7GHz, powered by a 2930mAh battery. This is backed with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. Both cameras (front and rear) are 13-megapixel units, and both come with flash modules which is pretty neat. The C5 Ultra will run Android 5.0 and will be released in emerging markets in white, black and mint; no word yet on if we’ll see a European debut for the phone.
The M5 is a more powerful (but still mid-range) handset, with a more approachable 5-inch 1080p display. Like the C5 Ultra, the device comes with an impressive set of cameras: 21-megapixel on the rear and 13-megapixel on the front. The rear camera has an f/2.2 lens and can reach ISO 3200, and even includes a hybrid autofocus system which can focus in 0.25s. Inside the waterproof body, you’ll find another octa-core MediaTek processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. This phone also will come with Android 5.0 and ship to emerging markets in the next few weeks in gold, white and black.
