New Nokia Asha budget phones announced: Asha 500, 502, 503

Nokia phones were the weapon of choice for millions of people across the world, but as smartphones have proliferated Nokia (and the world) has largely moved on. For those that don’t want or can’t afford to live on the bleeding edge, Nokia has produced the Asha series – smartphones and feature phones that deliver much of the functionality at a fraction of the price.

Today, we’re happy to announce that Mobile Fun will be be selling the very latest Nokia Asha phones, which were announced at Nokia World this week, to customers in the UK and abroad.

The three new phones are the Asha 500, 502 and 503. Each model is an evolution of the Asha 501, which debuted earlier this year. The Asha 500 is the most affordable of the bunch, while the Asha 502 adds dual SIM slots and the 503 steps up to HSDPA+ mobile internet. The 500 does have a slightly smaller screen though – 2.8″ compared to 3″ of the 502 and 503. The two latter phones also have five megapixel cameras with LED flash. All of the phones enjoy month-long standby time, Wi-Fi and quad-band EDGE as well.

Each Asha is similar looking to the 501, but comes with a very cool design element that you might have spotted on the images above: a transparent polycarbonate case baked around the phone, which makes it much more durable and prevents the colour of the phone beneath from fading over time. It’s a nice touch, and it should make these already hardy phones last even longer.

With each Asha projected to retail for less than $100, these phones should be offer considerable value. We look forward to announcing final prices and release dates for each model soon! For now, you can register your interest and see more information via the product pages linked below.
