Amazing and ‘edgy’ iPhone 6 concept revealed

We’re only a month away from a new iPhone, with an Apple event rumoured for September 10th.

The new iPhone 5S is expected to come with a few new features – including a fingerprint scanner – but its dimensions and specifications will remain mostly the same. That’s great if you’ve already got an iPhone 5 case, but it sucks if you wanted to see something more innovative.

But what about the iPhone 6? A concept artist in Los Angeles has put together an astounding vision of a much more revolutionary iPhone design, with a true “edge-to-edge display” that removes the bezel altogether.

That allows for a larger screen – 4.5″ versus 4″ – without needing the increase the overall size of the device, so it still fits comfortably into your hand.

New materials are also used in the concept, with the phone’s screen covered with nigh-indestructable graphene and the phone itself encased in a single piece of aluminium-carbon fibre.

Performance is also improved, through the inclusion of a pair of quad-core A7 processors, 4 GB of RAM and a 2,800 mAh battery. While those figures are perhaps unrealistic (save the battery), a future in which Apple pushes the hardware envelope after a long period of Android dominance would be an interesting one.

It’s a beautiful idea, albeit one that seems far removed from reality right now. In order to get the full effect, have a look at the iPhone 6 concept by JohnnyPlaid yourself.

What would you put in your ultimate iPhone 6? Or, come to think of it, your ultimate smart phone? Would it be a small phone with powerful hardware, a phone with radical new features, or just an update of an existing model?
