According to Korean website iNews 24, head of Samsung Mobile Communications JK Shin has confirmed to the Korean press that they will be unveiling a 4″ Galaxy S III Mini tomorrow, at a press event in Germany.
According to Shin, the product was conceived by the strong demand for 4″ devices in Europe. Of course, that’s the size of the original Samsung Galaxy S released just two years ago – it’s amazing how quickly things progress!
The phone isn’t expected to be as powerful as the original Galaxy S III, with only a 1 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage space, a 5 megapixel camera and a 1500 mAh battery.
Even with less power available, the phone’s Jelly Bean operating system should provide a fairly lag-free experience and we reckon that the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini could be quite popular. The ever-increasing size of Android flagships is a common complaint, and I expect many power users that don’t want a massive brick in their pocket will appreciate the new model.
As is standard, we’ll have a wide range of Galaxy S3 Mini accessories, including covers, screen protectors, and the ever-popular Galaxy S3 Mini cases. We’ll be bring these online over the next few days, so stay posted for the latest product news and announcements!
