Nikon S800C announced – the first Nikon camera with Android

After months of speculation, Nikon have finally announced their first camera with built in Android! It’s called the Nikon CoolPix S800C and it should be a big hit. The S800C will allow you to download any Android application straight to your camera – as well as the obvious choices like Instagram, Flickr and Facebook, you’ll even be able to play games, check your Twitter and write emails right on your camera! You can connect your S800C to your phone’s wireless hotspot to have all of your photos automatically uploaded with full GPS information to Google+ or Dropbox – never run out of storage space again!

Of course, as well as having unique Android features the S800C is a powerful point-and-shoot camera in its own right. The camera has a back-illuminated 16 megapixel sensor capable of better photography than any smartphone or tablet on the market today, particularly in low light settings. As well as still photography, you also have access to brilliantly detailed full HD 1080p video recording courtesy of the camera’s EXPEED processor. There’s even an option to trade resolution for higher frame rates, peaking at a massive 240 fps slow-motion video at VGA resolutions.

Unlike smartphones that rely on quality-degrading digital zooms, the CoolPix S800C has a powerful 10x NIKKOR optical wide angle lens (25 – 250mm). That means you’ll be able to capture beautiful panoramic vistas or brilliant closeups equally well. No matter which end of the lens you’re at, you’ll be able to enjoy perfect sharpness and colour.

The CoolPix S800C is a clever combination of Android tablet and super hi-tech point-and-shoot, giving you the easiest way of producing tremdously high quality images, editing and sharing them easily all from one device.
