If you’re looking to pick up an extended battery for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, then listen up. If you want to ensure that your case fits well, then have a look at these cases that users have reported work well with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Extended Battery.
Otterbox Commuter
- Otterbox Defender
- Case-Mate Pop
- Case-Mate Barely There
- Seidio Surface
- Seidio Active
- Seidio Active with Kickstand
- SGP Ultra Capsule
If the case you’re looking at isn’t on the list, you can still make a pretty good guess at whether it’ll fit or not. Generally, cases that have a bit of flex in them (for example, those made of silicone or leather) or only affix to the sides should work well. Materials that don’t stretch, like metals and hard plastics, may not fit.
If the case you’ve bought doesn’t fit, you can try removing the rear cover first – this will likely allow the case to be used, although the internals of the phone will be more exposed and your handset’s lifespan may be affected.
Accessories like desk stands, car holders and docks that leave the back free and only connect or grip at the sides or bottom of the device will generally work well with an extended battery fitted. Other accessories that rely on a tight grip around the phone’s rear may not work.
I hope this helps. If you’ve got any questions, feel free to ask via the comments below.
Hi Mike. Unfortunately, we don’t have any extended batteries in stock at the moment to test this. My guess is that it will though, thanks to the stretchy mesh material that’s used on the genuine Samsung mesh case (I assume this is the genuine Samsung case that you’re talking about.)
Does the genuine Samsung case fit over this battery?
