‘Life-Proof’ Motorola Defy+ Launches, Price Released

Just a few days after the news broke that they had been acquired by Google, handset manufacturers Motorola have announced their latest phone: The ‘life-proof’ Motorola Defy+.

The Defy+ is an upgraded version of the Defy, the elementally resistant Android handset that proved to be a surprise success for Motorola last year.

The new handset comes with a host of new features and upgrades. Chief among these are the upgraded internals, including a 1GHz processor and a capacious 1700mAh battery that will last for 7.1 hours of talk time.

The Defy+ will also run Gingerbread, version 2.3 of the Android operating system; this is the most recent version of the OS. The phone will come with a unique application in keeping with its active audience. This app is called CardioTrainer, and promises to monitor your daily workout.

Apart from these upgrades, the phone is much the same. It features the same form factor and display size, as well as the same host of rugged features that made the phone popular. These include scratch resistant gorilla glass, a drop resistant frame and additional resistances to both dust and water.

The handset looks to be a solid evolution on last year’s most popular rugged phone, and here at Mobile Fun we’re happy to announce the first price for the SIM free Motorola Defy+ here in the UK: £269.

You can order the Motorola Defy+ unlocked from our product page. We’ll also be providing our usual range of mobile phone accessories for the handset once it has been released, which is expected to be released early this Autumn.
