Nokia Charger Recall

This morning, Nokia has issued a product recall on chargers made by a third party supplier BYD.

Nokia have said that the charger recall only applied to a limited number of chargers of certain models and these models have different plugs and pins than those used in the UK.

As Mobile Fun sell both UK and European Nokia mains chargers, some of our customers may be affected by this recall and we would ask all customer who have purchased a European Nokia Mains Charger with the product code AC-3E in the last 7 months check their charger to see if it is affected by the recall.

To check if your charger is affected by the recall, please visit http://chargerexchange.nokia.com.  Nokia will provide a free replacement charger for those affected.

The company said that during a routine quality control process, it identified a problem with particular chargers made by BYD. The chargers, which may have been sold with a handset or as a separate accessory, have plastic covers which could come loose and fall off, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electrical shock hazard to the user.

Nokia have said that they are not aware of any incidents or injuries related to these chargers.
