Mobile Fun returns to profit with sales of over £7 million

iPhone, iPad and smartphones drive mobile accessories and devices etailer’s recovery from 2009 recession

Birmingham, 23rd August 2010 – The UK’s leading Internet retailer for Everything Mobile, Mobile Fun, today announced renewed sales growth and a healthy return to profit for the year ending 31st March 2010. Following increased order volumes, the company has posted sales of over £7 million (a 15% revenue increase from 2009), with profits before tax of over half a million pounds (compared with a loss of £17,000 in 2009).

Mobile Fun attributes its success to how it has capitalised on the growing demand for accessories for new mobile handsets and touch screen devices including the iPad, iPhone and Google Android-powered mobile phones.

Figures were also boosted by strong sales growth from the now profitable German MobileFun.de website, which opened in 2008 and now manages approximately 2,000 orders per month.

GearZap.com, the company’s iPad, netbook and laptop accessories website experienced a strong first year and attracted customers with its leading range of products and rapid delivery service. GearZap.com has experienced strong sales figures in its first year, taking over 1,000 orders per month during the busy Christmas period.  Further growth is planned during the next 12 months, as the website adds new products and launches new ranges for the iPad and other mobile internet devices.
