If you have an iPad 2 and wanted to protect it from scratches there are now a plethora of accessories to choose from, and you may be confused by the terminology used to describe it.
Firstly there is the iPad 2 smart cover from Apple which has the clever magnetic linking system that attaches the cover to the long edge of the iPad and acts as a hinge. The cover also folds away to become a wedge shaped tube that is used to create the right angle for either typing or a stand for media viewing.
The drawback is the smart cover only protects the glass front of the iPad 2, which is admittedly the most fragile part, but it does leave the lovely aluminium back exposed and liable to scratch.
This when a you might prefer a regular iPad 2 cover that protects both sides and edges of the tablet, and in the long run will keep your investment in better condition. There are iPad 2 covers that replicate the functionality of the smart cover but are a whole lot more protective such as the Leather Stand Case for iPad 2 from Logic3.
Finally whichever cover you choose you will probably need an iPad 2 Screen Protector as whenever you are using the iPad the screen is exposed and the cover isn’t going to help stop marks on the glass from sharp objects. There a large range of iPad 2 Screen Protectors to choose from here, but we like this one from Scoshe the best as you can read your email on the train and no-one else can see what you are viewing.
