Sensational
Its a great phone on par with the iPhone Internet loads quickly and clearly, very happy with purchase
Very Pleased
I came from the already good Desire HD but this is great. Same height as the Desire HD but narrower this is easier to hold and the performance is almost faultless. Reception, HTC Sense, speed of operation and certainly screen and appearance all stan out with this handset. I soon changed the stock ROM to one from XDA Dev and it is now even faster with better battery life. Tons of applications loaded and it works very well. As with all smartphones the battery could be better but with a charge possible from any USB port that is easy to overcome. I highly recommend this handset. Oh, and the camera and real HD video capture work flawlessley. Get one..
HTC Sensation - is it a worthy flag-ship product?
I've had the sim free sensation for just over two weeks now. Impressions, well it's not too bad overall but is let down on software optimisation. It can sometimes be a bit 'jerky' switching 3d screens using Sense 3.0, also noticeable when loading the app tray. It seems to be suffering from a general lack of memory - if you check Task Manager, you'll notice that free memory (available to you) can be around 100 MB and that's without any app's running (just a bit of account sync etc). You can of course check through the running applications list and remove offending apps to free up a bit more space but really, HTC, your flag-ship model, with such a paltry amount of memory - what were you thinking? There has been mention on the forums (XDA) that there's a possible screen issue with swiping. I had not seen this until approx. 1.5 weeks into ownership. At first I thought it might have something to do with the case I was using (ruberised CaseMate). If I took it out of the case, it seemed to improve things a little. I have managed to eliminate the problem completely now by doing a 'hard' reboot. The Video camera is reasonable HD recording (1080P) looks good but can suffer from focusing issues. The snapshot camera is very good and really does capture the moment. Taking and making calls from the Sensation is a breeze, even with the new design lock screen (Sense 3.0). Audio quality (for me at least) is generally better than e.g. HTC Desire. Hardware - excellent build quality (Aluminium/uni-design) and the display is very clear even in direct sunlight but suffers badly if you view from anything other than the perfect viewing angle... On the whole a pretty good effort. I think HTC need to spend sometime optimising their software and release further OTA's ASAP - if it is indeed intended to be a 'flag-ship' model.
HTC Sensational Flop?
A month ago, I bought the HTC Flyer ignoring various reviews that said the battery life was poor, the camera could be better etc. A month later the Flyer is still the best tablet I have used to date (including the favoured and owned iPad 2). Because of this I purchased the new HTC Sensation. Pity.

1. Battery life after a week of charging/using/charging the battery is very poor and a long way behind the iPhone 4. Mid-afternoon its almost out and that's with Blue-Tooth off. Use the camera and MP3 listening and you better have a charger handy. Dual-Core maybe fast and trend setting but battery life gets a real spanking.

2. How do HTC keep producing phones with such POOR AUDIO? They need to employ some Nokia engineers (I understand there maybe a few on the market these days) and learn a thing or two about the basic requirement of making not only the earphone loud enough but the speaker too. Not only are they poor quality, unless you bury the phone in your ear in a noisy environment you will struggle to hear anything. The iPhone (any Nokia) blows it away.

3. Touch screen is a great size. Pity the accuracy of key entry/swipe gestures often imitates old technology resistive technology, not a modern capacitive screen. Again, ( I really am not an Apple fan boy), use an iPhone 2, 3 or 4 next to a Sensation and you will want to launch the latter out of the window. It can be that bad.

4. Receiver sensitivity is DREADFULL. Not only do I lose calls in low signal areas where my iPhone is perfectly usable (and they are not that great on sensitivity) but I often have to re-set the phone to find the carrier.

5. Bluetooth. What a drama. I don't think I have ever come across a device where the range is so short. Unless I have the phone right next to me (forget leaving it on a desk near you) it drops out - constantly. Dare I say, with the same THREE other Blue-Tooth devices linked to my iPhone I can get at least 10-15ft away.

6. The HTC Sense is great - why don't they allow more icons on the home screen instead of a dirty great clock? I know its HTC's trade mark face but it seems a pity I have to download ADW APP to get over the problem.

My Sensation isn't faulty, (two other of my friends have identical problems with theirs), it's just poor design. With regard to Audio and Receive sensitivity (Blue-Tooth included) these cannot generally be improved by a firmware upgrade. If you fit a poor quality speaker it will always sound bad however you try and fluff it up with upgrades. There are many plus points but yet again HTC are still spoiling a great phone with fundamental design issues.

Wish I could give it 5 stars but no way. "Okay" is as good as it gets. Wait for the iPhone 5 and don't be tempted playing with the Sensation in a quiet phone shop with dim lighting. Did I mention the screen is almost impossible to read outside? You can crank up the screen brightness to max but if you do, make sure you have a spare battery in your pocket. Okay. I'll stop....
awesome phone
The htc sensation is an awesome phone just hame they had issues with stock levels and the website listing instock when they didnt have the item. I will definately use mobile fun again as telephone support staff was v good.

Would recommed the casemate tough case for the phone tis uber good
HTC misses the spot once again...
I was very much looking forward to getting my hands on this new model from HTC, after recently purchasing the new Flyer 7" tablet from them I was hoping their new "flagship" cell phone would be in the same mould. It isn't....

After watching many YouTube video's, reading endless reviews by so called "Pro" review websites on the HTC you would think that primary requirements of any phone could not be missed. By the new HTC Sensation and expect:

1. Still poor low audio from the earpiece. The iPhone by comparison (and Nokia) blows any iPhone away for audio level and clarity.
2. Pathetic audio output and again definition from the phones speaker. You would not believe how poor it is. The level is so low it's doubtful you will ever hear a call or indeed a text notification. There is an APP to increase but all that does is distort the audio.

3. The phones receivers (both cellular & Bluetooth) are poor. The Bluetooth is so bad that unless you have the connected device within 1m max it will drop out.

4. The cell receiver is down over the iPhone 4 and constantly looses calls. Phone used with 02 & Orange Sims.

5. The screen once again is unresponsive in comparison to the iPhone. Whilst it is capacitive, it often feels like a resistive screen with several stabs at trying to get it to operate. Not nice. Even worse when it gets hot (and the Sensation really does get hot - Dual-core maybe fast but certainly not "cool"!!)

6. Battery life. After over a week of use and re-charging the battery fails to get to early evening without a charge. If you enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi then be prepared for an even earlier shut down. As a business phone or if you like listening to MP3's and/or taking images - take a spare battery, not that you should have to.

Plus points - speed, screen size, compactness (very slim) HTC Sense.

Note HTC - keep practicing - you can get it right (the HTC Flyer is an example of how good you can be)and despite what critics say about the battery life, it is very very good.

Now when is the iPhone 5 coming out?
