Tidy nicely made but, in my case my phone due possibly due to its weight dislodged from dock on breaking and when cornering. So fitted stronger magnets to dock. That appeared to solve the problem. So far so good.

I don't have a metal phone, but by using the applicable metal insert, the very strong magnet of the base does a fantastic job, with no fiddly arms to move about and little space taken up.

Nice solution to hands free but I had real difficulty finding a suitable surface to attach it to. I have a Mazda 6 which has a cramped dashboard - vents, knobs, glove box in almost all the ideal places where this unit could be installed. The short stem is a wee bit short for the Smart Phone 6, but does ensure good stability. The large back pad was actually too big and I finished up using the small back pad and fitting the phone sideways. If you finish up with the same solution, don't forget that the side buttons must be uppermost. Not Great but for a self-attach, magnetic solution it is very stable and works very well. I am pleased with it and I'm not aware of a better solution.
