We purchased the Cam Plus to go with the new LG G5 SE our son wanted for his 16th birthday. This was his first ever phone that wasn't handed down to him ... so we wanted to make it special.
We connected the camera module up to the phone and tried to use it but it didn't work ... Quick look on the net for help ... lots of negative comments about this module but I wasn't going to let the negatives stop me from getting it to work for my son.
Reached out to LG directly and to MobileFun as well... both thought it should be working but neither could really tell us what was wrong with it.
We left it for a day or 2 and then I asked my son to see the phone. The LG Friend app recognised the Cam Plus ... so thought great lets go to the Cam Plus app. Nope ... the app didn't recognise the module ... started wondering what to do next ... then had a thought ... let's try to uninstall the Cam Plus app ... son said you can't ... bother ... let me have a look and see if I can get it to work... played with it and something suddenly happened ... then it went away ...
Finally sat down and looked at things a bit more and pressed and held the button on the bottom of the unit and the camera came on ... fantastic ... looks like it is working ... played with the wheel ... it seemed to get stuck at a point but I kept spinning the wheel and eventually it allowed me to zoom in and out with just the wheel.
I believe it is now working because our son hasn't complained about it ...
Hints for anyone else planning on purchasing ...
1. Charge up the Cam Plus before using it
2. Hold the power button down for about 2 seconds and that should initiate the camera on the phone ...
