Best part of this case are the bumpers. Solid metal (aluminium?). Feels so good to your hand. Buttons also 10/10.
Had in mind to use this case in a daily basis, but can't do it simply cause of the screen protector. Though i'll def. use this case in a dirty circumstances.
On the negative side, the rubber covers for the charging and headphone ports are fiddly and poor quality not becoming the standard of the rest of the case - the charging cover has, with less than 4 weeks use broken off and is unusable.
However, it does have a couple of flaws. The most important one of these is the screen cover. The screen cover doesn't stop you using any of the phone's touch screen functions and, as such, appears to be a good screen cover but it is incredibly fragile and easy to mark. For a toughened case, I think this is a major issue.
I have dropped the phone on a number of occasions over the month or so that I have been using this case (but only from a height of a metre at most and mostly onto carpet) and the screen cover is marked and quite badly flexed. Also, the metal frame of the case is a very soft alloy and also marks very easily so, whilst this case does look good, isn't overly bulky and doesn't stop you from using any of the phone's functions, the screen covers marks incredibly easily and the frame is very soft. I'd probably still recommend purchasing one of these but it's not really a tough case.
Since I have got this I have dropped it on to rocks while taking a photo and it landed in a rather shallow but muddy puddle. The case & phone both survived. So two thumbs up for the advertised protection.
But for day to day use it's not ideal, only apple lightning cables will fit into the machined hole. Also most headphone sockets don't fit either for the same reason (but a headphone adaptor was supplied). The extra width of the case also means it wont fit my car mount. The twist button for the mute is also a pain to use.
But the biggest annoyance for me is the front and rear protection. they are both plastic skins, and because there is a gap between the phone and the plastic they act like a drum skin. There is a noticeable amount of travel between the screen protector and the screen, which becomes annoying when typing or playing games.
The rear skin is the worst for this as the gap is quite noticeable. You can really beat out a good rhythm on the back of the phone.
So for day to day use I am going back to a rear cover with a glass screen protector, I will just keep this for when I go hiking.
