The original\u00a0BlackBerry Pearl<\/a> was a great phone to introduce you to the world of BlackBerry. It was great for getting new users more familiar with the BlackBerry messaging services and menu system, without having a fully qwerty keyboard, although the suretype keyboard did take some getting used to. The original Pearl only ran on 2G technology, which back then wasn’t too much of an issue because using the internet on your phone back then wasn’t anywhere near as important or popular as it is today.<\/p>\n

\"BlackBerry<\/a>The updated version \u2013 the\u00a0BlackBerry Pearl 3G<\/a> \u2013 is a massive improvement over the original Pearl. It has fast internet access, a simplified keyboard layout that\u2019s more in-line with standard mobile phones and a sleeker, smoother menu system.<\/p>\n

The Pearl 3G has also had a few cosmetic changes, the trackball that gave the Pearl it\u2019s name is gone, replaced with an optical trackpad. The charging and headphone ports have both been changed to the standard Micro USB and 3.5mm ports respectively. The phone is also a slightly different size. They\u2019re all relatively small changes, but they\u2019re significant enough to mean that most of the accessories that you bought for the original BlackBerry Pearl won\u2019t fit the new BlackBerry Pearl 3G.<\/p>\n

The Pearl 3G supports Micro SDHC memory cards up to 32GB in size. 16GB is enough to store up to 14000 high quality photos, 3000 songs and 18 hours of video.
