Although dominated by iPhone 4, there were a number of high profile handsets that made their way onto the shelves including the Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Wave and Sony Ericsson X10 Mini.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next few months we&#8217;ve got some great new handsets due to make an appearance and not only will we have a full blown handset war on our hands, but also a battle for the number one operating system too.<\/p>\n<h3>Android<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_2438\" style=\"width: 130px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobilefun.co.uk\/blog\/guides\/latest-handset-release-dates\/\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2438\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2438      \" title=\"Android on the Desire\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mobilefun.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/htc-desire-apps.jpg\" alt=\"Android on the Desire\" width=\"120\" height=\"120\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2438\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Android on the Desire<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There seems to be no stopping Google&#8217;s Android operating system at the moment, with most handset manufacturers now offering at least one smartphone running Google&#8217;s operating system. TouchWiz lives on in their standard handsets, but future touchscreen phones are set to use Bada, Samsung&#8217;s new finger controlled touch based OS. They might still have the biggest market share, but they&#8217;re losing the fight against Apple and Android. The menu system looks great, but we&#8217;ve still not seen any handsets that will run Windows Phone 7.
