Each year Apple tend to release a new iPhone and several new iPods. Here’s a quick guide to figuring out which iPod or iPhone you’ve got.<\/p>\n

So which iPod or iPhone have I got?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The list below shows all Apple iPods and iPhones from the last few years. I’ve put the dates that the different generations were released along with the available storage capacity so you should be able to figure out pretty easily which one you’ve got. If yours isn’t listed here, take a look at last years post<\/a> which shows all models of iPod and iPhone up to March 2009.<\/p>\n

iPhone 5<\/p><\/div>\n

Available from September 2012 and available in 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB models. The\u00a0iPhone 5 sports an improved design over the iPhone 4, with a taller screen, a faster processor and LTE connectivity. The iPhone 5 also has a much smaller connector called Lightning. The iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6, which includes a new maps application.

Available from October 2011 and available in 16GB, 32GB and 64 GB models. The\u00a0iPhone 4S has the same design as the iPhone 4, but adds an improved camera and fixes the attenuation problem discovered in the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4S came with a new version of iOS, version 5, which added a new personal assistant called Siri.

Available from June 2010 and available in 16GB and 32GB models. The\u00a0iPhone 4 is a brand new design with a lot of new features over the 3GS. It has a faster processor, higher resolution screen, video calling and a 5MP camera. iPhone 4 is released alongside a major new version of the operating system, iOS4.

Some minor cosmetic changes and the introduction of a white 16GB model.\u00a0iPhone 3G\u00a0shipped with software version 2.0 which added the App store and support for Microsoft Exchange.

Physical volume keys and a speaker are introduced into the slimmer design. Support for Nike+ is added with software version 2.1, along with “Genius” playlists.

The\u00a0iPod Nano 4G\u00a0is available in 9 new vibrant colours.

Instead the iPod Shuffle 3G has a new remote headset that controls volume and playback and a new voice menu system that talks you through your menus.
