The\u00a0Nokia X6<\/a> is more than just another touch screen phone from\u00a0Nokia<\/a>, It\u2019s a multimedia beast and is the first handset from Nokia to feature a capacitive touch screen.\u00a0Along with it\u2019s large display, the X6 has plenty of internal memory to store all your photos, music and videos. \u00a0To keep your handset looking its best you\u2019ll need a case to protect it, but with such a wide range of\u00a0Nokia X6 Cases<\/a> available, choosing the right one for you can be a bit of a mission.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Nokia CP-389 X6 Case<\/a> already ranked first in\u00a0our list of\u00a0top 5\u00a0Nokia X6 Cases<\/a>, but I thought that it deserved a full review.<\/p>\n

Design<\/h3>\n

The CP-389 is a flip case with a few design features that make it stand out from others in the range. Instead of having a ‘stitched on’ pocket that you slide the phone into, the CP-389 folds around your phone like a compact box and is stitched together on the rear. The front flap is also attached to the back of the case, and when closed is held in place with a press stud either side of the phone. The Stitching on the case is a bit quirky too. It’s not the usual chain stitching that you’ll find on nearly every other case on the market, but instead a stylish zig-zag stitching that holds the case together well.<\/p>\n

As you’d expect, the case has all the usual cut outs – the camera and flash on the back, volume keys, keypad lock and camera button on the right hand side and the sim card tray on the left side. The bottom of the case has cut outs for the X6’s microphone and lanyard hook. The top has cut outs for the 2mm Nokia Charger and 3.5mm Headphones.<\/p>\n

Inside, the case has a fabric lining which will help prevent scratches, but unlike some cases it’s not microfibre, so won’t do much to keep your screen free from fingerprints.<\/p>\n

One feature of the case that stood out was the keypad cover. The X6 only really has 3 keys – Answer, End & Menu, and these are all located just under the screen. Most cases would leave these exposed or use a thin strip of plastic to cover them up and hold the phone in place, but Nokia have gone down a different route the the CP-389. All three keys are covered by the leather of the case, but it’s soft and flexible and still allows you to use the phone as normal and keeps your Nokia X6 securely in the case.<\/p>\n

The back of the case is plain, no belt clips, no kickstands and no belt loops so will fit neatly in your pocket.<\/p>\n

On a slight negative, I did find that the X6 didn’t sit low enough in the case. Not a major issue, but it did mean that the media shortcut button above the screen can’t be pressed very easily and the front facing camera is partly covered, but then who uses them?!<\/p>\n

Quality<\/h3>\n

As with all Nokia Accessories<\/a>, the quality of the X6 case<\/a> is excellent. The edges of the leather are sealed in a contrasting grey on the flap and black elsewhere. The press studs are securely fitted and the lining on the sides prevents them from scratching or causing any damage to the sides of your phone. The leather is high grade and embossed with the Nokia logo, and given the style of stitching used on the case, I can’t see it falling apart any time soon.<\/p>\n

Why Choose<\/h3>\n

The CP-389 Nokia X6 Case<\/a> is a great case if you just want something simple to protect your phone in your bag or pocket. \u00a0It fits well and the build quality is superb. If being able to use the shortcut button is important to you, then I’d suggest taking a look at the Noreve Traditional Nokia X6 Case<\/a>. It’s currently the only case that doesn’t cover this button up.<\/p>\n
