The new metal construction looks and feels much more premium than the plastic that preceded it, but it’s available at the same price — nice one, Amazon!

Amazon also announced a new capacity for the Fire HD 10 — 64GB — which is also available in new aluminium silver or the original black or white plastic. The other specifications — a 1280 x 800 ‘HD’ screen, a quad-core processor and up to 8 hours of battery life — have not been changed.

Here’s the price breakdown of all the new devices:

Fire HD 10 — 16GB

Fire HD 10 — 32GB

Fire HD 10 — 64GB

With ads

£169.99

£199.99

£229.99

Without ads

£179.99

£209.99

£239.99

The aluminium version has the same dimensions as its predecessor, so all Kindle Fire HD 10 cases and accessories should fit just fine. Amazon claim their tablet is twice as durable as an iPad; we all know how fragile those are, so a case is probably still a good idea!

All of the tablets are in stock now, so if you want one then hit that dull yellow ‘add to basket’ button over on the Amazon website.

Let us know what you think of the news in the comments below.
