Amazon updated their line of Kindle Fire HD 10 tablets today, adding a new aluminium version. The new metal construction looks and feels much more premium than the plastic that preceded it, but it’s available at the same price — nice one, Amazon!<\/p>\n

Amazon also announced a new capacity for the Fire HD 10 — 64GB — which is also available in new aluminium silver or the original black or white plastic. The other specifications — a 1280 x 800 ‘HD’ screen, a quad-core processor and up to 8 hours of battery life — have not been changed.<\/p>\n

The aluminium version has the same dimensions as its predecessor, so all Kindle Fire HD 10 cases<\/a> and accessories<\/a> should fit just fine. Amazon claim their tablet is twice as durable as an iPad; we all know how fragile those are, so a case is probably still a good idea!<\/p>\n

All of the tablets are in stock now, so if you want one then hit that dull yellow ‘add to basket’ button over on the Amazon website.<\/p>\n
