The original Gear Fit was a super-slim fitness wearable that still incorporated a thin screen; a promising idea but one that didn’t find favour from critics. Now Samsung is back to try again.

As the images show, the Gear Fit 2 will be smaller and thinner than its predecessor, hopefully making it more comfortable to wear all day. According to earlier rumours, the smartwatch-like will sport a 1.84-inch AMOLED screen, with GPS and 4GB of internal storage to allow for some standalone functionality (e.g. recording a running route or playing stored music to Bluetooth headphones).

The Gear Fit 2 should arrive in June, making it only a month away.

Alongside the new Fit, we should see a pair of wireless earbuds called the Samsung Gear IconX. These tiny creations mimic the popular Bragi Dash, with optical heart rate sensors, touch controls and a charging case. 4GB of internal storage, water and dust resistance and automatic activity tracking are also said to be included on the Gear IconX.

What do you think of Samsung’s forthcoming wearables?
