GSMArena\u00a0<\/em>published<\/a> the first legitimate-looking renders of the iPhone 7 today. The release, which was made thanks to a leak from ‘a reputable source in the case-making business’, is based around technical drawings of the iPhone 7, with the colors and materials mocked up based on previous models. Four colours are pictured, running the swathe of Apple’s current choices: rose gold, champagne gold, space grey and plain old silver.<\/p>\n

There are some interesting details to note from the renders. Firstly, the 3.5mm headphone jack has been removed as was foretold by earlier rumours. This leaves a symmetric bottom of the iPhone, with a speaker grille on either side of the Lightning connector.<\/p>\n

The antenna bands have also been altered, curving around the periphery of the phone instead of cutting across in a straight line. The size of the camera also seems to have increased, compared to the iPhone 6 and 6S. This may indicate an upgraded sensor, with a higher megapixel count or larger pixels.

It’s impossible to know for sure\u00a0from these images\u00a0if the home button will be remain as a physical button, but it does look that way. Another question mark regards the phone’s waterproofing, which likewise can’t be inferred from these renders.<\/p>\n

The renders only show the 4.7-inch iPhone 7, and don’t include the expected 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus. That model is expected to be the more interesting of the pair, with the potential for dual rear cameras.<\/p>\n
