Look out! There’s a new MacBook on the loose. Apple announced the upgraded laptop this week, which comes with a faster processors, longer battery life and a new Rose Gold colour option.<\/p>\n

The second generation is generally when Apple’s products get good \u2014 think MacBook Air 2, iPad 2, iPhone 3G \u2014 and the second-generation MacBook looks like no exception. The laptop uses Intel’s sixth-generation Core M processors, running at a modest 1.1 to 1.3GHz depending on loadout. The computer also uses faster 1866MHz RAM modules (compared to 1600MHz last year) and an improved Intel 515\u00a0integrated graphics solution, which Intel claims is 25% more powerful than its predecessor.<\/p>\n

Beyond raw horsepower, the new MacBook should last longer too. Apple say that the MacBook will stretch to ten hours of web browsing or eleven hours of video playback; one hour longer than the first-generation model.<\/p>\n

The new MacBook is already available in retail stores and online. It starts at \u00a31049 for a 1.1GHz processor and 256GB of storage, and \u00a31299 for a 1.2GHz processor and 512GB of storage; a 1.3GHz processor is also available as an upgrade. Both models come with 8GB of RAM.<\/p>\n

Speaking of RAM, Apple have also updated their MacBook Air lineup, making 8GB of RAM standard. However, this change doesn’t seem to have been made on Apple’s UK site yet.<\/p>\n
