The OnePlus 2 was a bit of a disappointment thanks to its higher price and removed features, and now OnePlus are hoping to bounce back with the OnePlus 3. The phone’s not been officially announced, but this week we learned a little about what we can expect.

According to AnTuTu benchmarks revealed by GizmoChina, the OnePlus 3 (A3000) will debut with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, likely with the firm’s OxygenOS ROM.

In terms of specifications, we’re looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, complete with four cores and an Adreno 530 GPU. This is backed with a mighty 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, mirroring the specifications of the American/Chinese Galaxy S7 (so it’ll be slightly less powerful than the Exynos-equipped Galaxy S7 models, including the UK variant).

The screen is once again a 1080p model, suggesting the screen won’t grow beyond its current 5.5 inches (and may in fact decrease).

OnePlus are said to be holding an event in Beijing, China on April 7th, and we may see the phone announced there. If so, we’ll have cases and accessories ready for the phone soon afterward, so stay tuned!

The OnePlus One was a revolutionary (and controversial) phone on its debut, with its brash ‘flagship killer’ tagline and convoluted invite system not obscuring a good, cheap phone.
