If you’re reading this guide you’re probably thinking about using your existing\u00a0SIM card inside a brand new shiny iPhone SE. If you do in fact have the wrong sized card don’t panic! This handy guide will help you identify and resize your existing SIM card.<\/p>\n

Apple’s latest handset announcement, the iPhone SE is made up of some pretty powerful hardware that’s packed into a much smaller and compact exterior than its larger siblings, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S. The slim and minimalistic design does not stop on the surface – even the components have been fitted to take up as little room as possible. The Apple iPhone SE uses a 4FF slot, which is also known as a Nano SIM.<\/p>\n

Which type of SIM do I have?<\/h2>\n

We’ve come a long way since the days of the 2FF (see the image below) though many smartphones still use them. If you’re an owner of a 2FF SIM card it will have a height of 25mm and a width of 15mm. You should be able to notice quite a bit of space above the metal chip. If your SIM card measures 15mm by 12mm it means that you have the 3FF variation, which we like to call a Micro SIM. Now if you already have a SIM card that is 12.3mm tall and 8.8mm wide then you already own the correct size and can go get yourself\u00a0a nice stylish case<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How to get a nano-SIM card?<\/h2>\n

You can request a nano SIM card from your mobile network operator or if you want to get one quicker you can cut a larger SIM down to size yourself with a SIM cutter<\/a>. You can always use a SIM card adaptor<\/a>\u00a0to fit the SIM back into a phone that takes a micro SIM or standard SIM, but odds are you won\u2019t need to.<\/p>\n
