The Microsoft Lumia 650 has been called the \u2018last Lumia\u2019, the final handset in a long-running line of Windows phones. It\u2019s a bittersweet moment for Windows Phone fans, as Microsoft transitions to Surface Phone after 60 models under the Lumia brand. The Lumia 650 is the last hurrah then, a chance for Microsoft to conclude things as they begun: offering solid phones with unique software features, a friendly design and a reasonable price.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be stocking the SIM-free Lumia 650<\/a>, and we\u2019re happy to announce the first UK price: just \u00a3199. Let\u2019s take a closer look at what you get for the money.<\/p>\n

\"SIM<\/a>The Lumia 650 comes with a 5-inch 720p touchscreen; pretty much the standard for a mid-range phone these days. Inside, there\u2019s an efficient (if not overpowered) Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset, backed with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a micro SD card slot. Under the back cover is a modest 2,000mAh battery, which should provide a full day\u2019s worth of battery life. In terms of imaging, we\u2019re looking at an 8-megapixel rear camera, with a 2-megapixel snapper up front. All in all, it\u2019s a reasonable package for the money.<\/p>\n

The 650 will of course run Windows 10, giving you a good set of built-in apps and fundamental features. Sadly Continuum isn\u2019t supported, but you do get Microsoft\u2019s Edge browser, its excellent keyboard and maps. You can download more apps from the Windows store, where you\u2019ll find less apps than Android or iOS, but still a reasonable amount.<\/p>\n

The Lumia 650 should be announced in mid-February, according<\/a> to WindowsCentral<\/em>.
