This year, LG is unveiling its much more powerful successor, the G Flex 2.

Like its predecessor, the phone curves vertically, minimising the distance between mouth and microphone and providing a cool look for watching videos in landscape. Its self-healing back also returns, with the healing time reduced from 10 minutes to 10 seconds.

According to a leaked press release, the phone will come with a more dense 5.5-inch 1080p P-OLED display and the latest internals. That includes a 2GHz Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, 16 or 32GB of internal storage (plus micro SD slot) and 2GB of RAM. When it comes to cameras, we’ve got a 13-megapixel rear shooter (with OIS and laser autofocus) and a 2.1-megapixel front-facer. The G Flex 2 will run Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The G Flex 2 will reportedly be available in Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red colour options, but pricing and availability has yet to be revealed. With LG’s press conference due to kick off in a few minutes, we’ll hopefully be able to add in this missing information.

If this leak is correct, then the G Flex should be a strong flagship option, even if its bendy screen doesn’t offer too much added functionality over a traditional straight-screened model.
