The Lumia 830 is a mid-range phone with features that have previously only appeared on flagship Lumia models. The leading feature is the inclusion of a\u00a0PureView camera – albeit with a reduced 10-megapixel\u00a0sensor\u00a0– with optical image stabilisation and ZEISS optics. That should set a new photographic standard for what is otherwise a mid-range phone.<\/p>\n The Lumia 830 may be thin, but it does have a reasonably large 720p screen at 5 inches. The 830’s diminutive dimensions are stuffed with a reasonable amount of horsepower. There’s a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and a microSD slot. On the outside,\u00a0the Lumia 830 is clad in the same\u00a0aluminium frame and polycarbonate rear cover\u00a0that Nokia have found favour with in the past, in bright colours: orange, green, white and black.<\/p>\n In terms of software, you can expect Windows Phone with the Lumia Denim update that was announced today. That update includes Cortana in the UK, folders, SMS merging and forwarding, customisable snooze times, VPN support and improvements to IE.<\/p>\n The Lumia 830\u00a0comes with\u00a0support for wireless charging, and is compatible with a new DT-903 wireless charging plate that’ll also show you notifications. We’ll have the full range of\u00a0Nokia Lumia 830 accessories<\/a>\u00a0available soon.<\/p>\n The Lumia 830 should debut for around \u20ac330 (before taxes and subsidies) from September.<\/p>\n Nokia Lumia 730 + 735<\/strong><\/p>\n The second model announced by Nokia is their self-described “selfie phone”, available as the Nokia Lumia 730 (dual-SIM) or Lumia 735 (LTE) models. The models are identical apart from this difference in network connectivity, so we’ll refer to both here.<\/p>\n The Lumia 730’s selfie capabilities come care of a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, with a 24mm focal length. That translates into a wider angle view, letting you take group selfies or capture your surroundings more easily. The phone comes with a special Lumia Selfie app for maximising your ‘selfibilities’. Nokia also highlight the camera’s suitability for video calling on Skype (which, of course, is also owned by Microsoft).<\/p>\n The Lumia 730 comes with similar internals to the 830: the same quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1GB of RAM, but only 8GB of internal storage instead of 16GB on the 830. The rear camera is also weaker on the 730, as it comes without that PureView branding and with a weaker 6.7-megapixel sensor. The phone also has the same resolution screen – 720p – at a slightly smaller 4.7-inch span.<\/p>\n The Lumia 730 and 735 will begin shipping in September; the LTE (735) version will cost \u20ac220 before taxes and subsidies, while the dual-sim model (730) will cost \u20ac200 before taxes and subsidies.
