Expectations were high for a new version of Android and a strong focus on wearable technology at the Google IO Developer Conference \u2013 they didn\u2019t disappoint!\u00a0 The keynote session offered an opportunity to compare fierce rivals\u2019 releases in wearable gadgets, some of which we will discuss in this article.\u00a0 One of the first Android Wear SmartWatches, the LG G Watch<\/a> which made its debut at Google IO, will be the first SmartWatch to launch featuring the new software, alongside the Motorola Moto 360<\/a> and the Samsung Gear Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The LG G Watch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Available in both Black Titan<\/a> and White Gold<\/a>, the LG G Watch has been specifically chosen by Google as a lead partner on Android Wear.\u00a0 Ready to pre-order already, this SmartWatch will be available to ship on July 4th<\/sup>, ready for the official launch date of July 7th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Setting you back just \u00a3159, rumoured to be the cheapest of this trio, you won\u2019t be able to resist this wearable hands-on gadget with all-exciting features, including a \u201cspeak-and-go\u201d function, coupled with being IP67 dust and water resistant.\u00a0 This SmartWatch will be compatible with a \u201cwide range of Android Smartphones\u201d, not solely LG\u2019s offerings.<\/p>\n

The Motorola Moto 360\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The Motorola Moto 360 SmartWatch<\/a> ditches the square-shaped display featured on many other wearables on the market in favour of a seamless circular watch face for a more sophisticated look.\u00a0 Rumoured to be released during summer 2014, the price is yet to be confirmed.\u00a0 Its classic design is that of a handcrafted timepiece, whilst having the modern day functionality of a top of the range SmartWatch. With its customisable leather<\/a> and metal<\/a> straps and innovative design, the Moto 360 is shaping up to be Google\u2019s equivalent to the inevitable Apple iWatch, especially as out of this trio, the Moto 360 has 32GB internal storage, compared to 4GB \u2013 let\u2019s just hope it arrives in good time!<\/p>\n

The Samsung Gear Live<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Samsung\u2019s Gear Live will be available for pre-order later today, ready to ship on July 7th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Given Samsung\u2019s previous criticism for comparatively expensive SmartWatches, the Gear Live is rumoured to be launched at \u00a3169.\u00a0 Available in Black<\/a> or Wine Red<\/a> with a changeable strap, inclusive heart rate monitor and resistance to dust and water, this inventive gadget can be customised to suit your style and support your fitness activity.<\/p>\n

As flagship Android phones increase in popularity, it\u2019ll be nice to have a selection of wearable gadgets to carry out your day-to-day tasks without having to take your phone out your pocket.\u00a0 So there we have it folks; three new and exciting upcoming launches to look out for over the summer \u2013 watch this space!<\/p>\n
