This week Acer announced the Liquid X1, a new phablet-sized phone with decent specifications and a low price. Let’s take a look at the phone, which will be available sim-free at Mobile Fun.

The phone’s most noticeable feature is its 5.7-inch display, which clocks in at a resolution of 1280 x 720. That’s a bit behind the standard 1080p and the LG G3’s 1440p, but it’s still a reasonable resolution for a display this size.

Inside, you’ll find a octa-core Mediatek processor, running at 1.7 GHz. This is backed with 16 GB of internal memory, with a microSD card slot to add up to 64 GB of additional external storage. The X1’s chipset is 4G LTE capable, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi ac. Inside, there’s a 2700 mAh battery which should easily allow for a full day’s use.

On the back, you’ll enjoy a 13 megapixel camera which should be quite capable, particularly in well lit areas. There’s also a 2 megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls, as you like.

Acer have always had quite a light Android skin, and that remains true on the X1. Android 4.4.2 KitKat is the core OS, so you’re on the latest version of Android from the off.

The Liquid X1 looks like a strong choice if you’re looking for a mid-range phone with a little larger screen than normal. It’s coming soon sim-free and unlocked to Mobile Fun, so check it out at the product page below:

SIM Free Liquid X1 – 16 GB

Liquid X1 accessories

Thanks for checking out the article and be sure to leave your impressions of the Liquid X1 in the comments below.

Acer are a lesser known smartphone manufacturer, but their Liquid series of smartphones have been well received over the past few years.
