This week Sony announced the Xperia T3, a new smartphone that combines a large 5.3-inch 720p display with mid-range internals and a reasonable price. In fact, Sony claims that this is the thinnest 5.3-inch smartphone in the world, at 7mm. Of course, 5.3″ isn’t the most common display size, but it’s still a remarkable feat.
\nInside the Xperia T3, you’ll find a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor running at 1.4 GHz, backed with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. You can greatly expand your available storage using microSD though, with support for up to 64 GB microSD cards.<\/p>\n
In terms of shooters, we’re looking at a rather ordinary 8-megapixel Exmor RS rear camera, with a 1.1-megapixel front-facing camera. Other features include a 2500 mAh non-removable battery and the usual connectivity options: Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi N and NFC.

Android 4.4.2 is the software on board, with Sony’s usual blend of software tweaks and themes.<\/p>\n
The Xperia T3 looks like it’ll be available from late July or early August, and will launch in three colours worldwide: black, white and purple. We’ll have two of these at Mobile Fun, although if we see sufficient demand the purple option is a possibility as well.<\/p>\n
