\"\"<\/a>Earlier today we had a look at the Motorola Moto 360, one of the first smartwatches announced to run Google’s new Android Wear OS. Now, we’re going to be covering the other watch revealed yesterday,\u00a0the LG G Watch.<\/p>\n

The G Watch has a more traditional smartwatch design, with a chunky square display, similar to the\u00a0Sony SmartWatch 2<\/a>. The design is sleeker and more stylish than Sony’s example though, with a noticeably thinner face. The G Watch is otherwise quite minimalistic in its design, with a matte look compared to the shiny Sony.<\/p>\n

LG have stated that “a well designed device has the potential to take the smart wearable market by storm”, and LG have taken a practical approach to achieving that goal.<\/p>\n

As for the watch’s capabilities, relatively little is known. The G Watch does feature a square display, so it’ll have more screen real estate than an equivalently sized circular display, like that of the\u00a0Moto 360<\/a>. Its use of plastic should also allow it to hit a lower price point, which may make it more desirable if it has the same capabilities – provided by Android Wear – as its competitor from Motorola. The watch is being listed as being compatible with a wide range of Android devices.<\/p>\n
