This weekend I tested the new KitSound Audio Sport Band<\/a> and was pleasantly surprised. The audio sweatband allows you to listen to music while working out and is particularly well suited for use while running due to the fact that it literally wraps around your head, just like a normal sweat band. Better yet, it even covers your ears.<\/p>\n

OK, so what better way to test this than put it on and go for a long run? None. There is no better way. So that\u2019s just what I did \u2013 and I was impressed.<\/p>\n

The sweatband fits nicely around your head but does feel a bit too tight. Nonetheless that might not be such a bad thing as it actually stays snuggly in place which means that you can forget you\u2019re even wearing one. I did feel some pain around my ears after around 10 K so I pulled on it a bit to try and loosen it up (don\u2019t think that had any effect) and readjusted it (this probably made a difference) which seemed to fix the problem so that\u2019s all good. Just make sure everything is in place: speakers next to each ear, headband not too low and so on.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know about you but I tend to sweat (a lot) when running. The KitSound Sport Band really works as a sweatband and keeps the sweat from dripping down your forehead. It\u2019s also water-resistant (rated IP 65<\/a>) so should also be safe to use in the rain unless it\u2019s really pouring down.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re worried about the hygiene, stop worrying. The little speakers inside the sport band can be removed so that you can wash it until it\u2019s squeaky clean.<\/p>\n

Apart from the fact that the KitSound Audio Sport Band keeps the sweat from entering your eyes, there\u2019s one more thing that I really like about this headphones\/sweatband combo: it covers your ears. There were 13 degrees Celsius outside when I went for a run and the wind wasn\u2019t too kind either. The fact that it covers your ears and protects them is a real plus, especially at lower temperatures.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut how about the sound?\u201d I hear you say. The sound quality is generally very good, impressive when considering the price, but the maximum volume isn\u2019t exactly brain shakingly loud. That being said, it is just loud enough to keep you pumped and block out most outside noise. It may be that the manufacturer has limited the maximum volume in order to reduce or eliminate distortions.<\/p>\n

So should you buy one? If you\u2019re into running, jogging or speed walking then it\u2019s a no-brainer \u2013 buy one! At \u00a319.99 this is real value for money. You get some good quality workout headphones (that don\u2019t fall off when you least expect it like many earphones that I\u2019ve tried) and a sweatband.<\/p>\n

In short, a must buy.<\/p>\n

PS: Quick tip – remember to connect the cable before you put the sport band on as the connection is at the back which makes it harder to try and connect the cable once you\u2019ve already got the band on.<\/p>\n
