The phone is the first Panasonic have released outside of Asia as part of their planned global expansion.

The Eluga is pretty powerful and has some interesting features, but it’s most notable for its devilish good looks.

The Panasonic Eluga comes with an incredibly thin chassis, measuring only 7.8 mm thin – a little thinner than the HTC One S.

Its 4.3″ display runs at qHD resolution, and features a minimal bezel, making it seven millimetres shorter than the One S and a bit narrower too. The phone has received an IP-57 dust-and-water resistance rating, and sure enough will survive in water or dirt quite comfortably – albeit only for limited times and depths.

Inside, you’ll find a relatively powerful 1 GHz dual core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and the usual connectivity options. There’s a good 8 megapixel camera on the back, too. The phone runs Gingerbread, but should be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich this summer.

It’s a strong choice, and if you’re planning to pick one up then you may be interested in some Panasonic Eluga accessories. We’ve got all manner of Panasonic Eluga cases and covers to provide that extra bit of protection, as well as Panasonic Eluga car holders.

The waterproof sim-free Panasonic Eluga has just been released in the UK.
