Absolutely Perfect

having just purchased a new boardman pro bike I needed a holder for the iPhone 4 so I could use a GPS bike program, this product appeared a premium product (which was reflected in the price) and has proved to be both top quality and invaluable in protecting my phone. The many mount options ensure a perfect secure fit to the bike without complication or scratching and the tilt and turnable holder is perfect for reading the screen in differing levels of light. The build quality is very good and nothing appears to be substandard for the price. However the highlight for me is in the design, the amplified speaker channels work very well indeed and i can clearly hear my audible progress notifications from the app. The fitting is snug and there is little or no vibration or rattle and the option to switch to my 3GS is also a positive point.. however...the person who decided to put a rubber bungee from the mount to the holder deserves a medal, having hit a rather deep pot hole the mount came away from the bracket and my iPhone was heading to the tarmac at 30mph... after a minor heart attack i was happy to see it swinging safely from my handle bars intact. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and would reccomend it to anybody, what you get is a premium product which is reflected in its price Perfect for my shiney new Boardman Pro bike.

Great Piece of Kit!

This is an excellent piece of kit, the price reflecting the quality of the components. There are plenty of alternative fixings for attaching it to your handlebars, and the unit itself is on a 360 mounting meaning it can be angled in any orientation and any angle. The materials are solid and feel resiliant. The clever speaker and microphone "horns" on the bottom really do work, as you can carry out a fairly normal conversation on the phone while moving at a decent pace. It comes with clips for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3x, and one feature that is not advertised is that an Apple charging cable can be cleverly attached and secured - this is great for attaching a second battery if required. My one criticism is that while it is well made, there is no screen protector to make it weatherproof, a problem in this country! That said, similar weatherproof cases appear to be much more expensive, so in all it still gets five stars.

Rotates to allow use in either portrait or landscape modes

Different apps require different orientations of your device. For example, a sat nav app might be easier to use in landscape, while an app that tracks your speed and route might only be usable in portrait. The Ozaki iCarry Bike S rotates 360° left to right, and 60° up and down, allowing you to position your phone at the best possible angle for using your phone how you want to use it.

One of the most striking features of the Ozaki iCarry Bike S is the "chin" at the bottom. This is more than just an odd aesthetic choice - it is specially designed to gather sound on the microphone side, and amplify it on the speaker side, which makes your conversations louder and clearer at both ends no matter what speed you're travelling at. The maximum amplification for calls and media playback is 10dB.

Water-resistant stopper for earphone jack and anti-drop hanging strap provide additional protection

There are two additional problems with using your iPhone as a hand-free. First, the top-mounted headphone jack is a magnet for raindrops which could cause extensive water damage to your phone which isn't covered under warranty, while there's always a risk that no matter how securely attached the mount is to the holder, if you're going over bumpy terrain it could fall off, risking damage to your phone. Ozaki has both of these potential disasters covered with the iCarry Bike S. There is a rubber stopper for the headphone jack that will keep your iPhone's insides safe from even the most torrential downpour, and a simple braided nylon strap connected between the mount and the holder provides extra security against your phone falling should the mount become detached.
