OtterBox for Dell Streak Impact Series

The Otterbox case covers the rear and sides of the Dell Streak 5. It does not cover the front, so this is not a case for use in your pocket. However it is a solidly protective case for use indoors. All features are accessible. It does not impede use of the home/settings/back buttons. I would not risk carrying my Streak around without a case, even indoors, because there is just too much risk of damage, courtesy of gravity. If you get a Streak, and don't yet have a case, you will have instantly found the same concern. For taking the device outdoors (as a phone, albeit in need of large pockets), I bought a Tuff-Luv leather flip case, which is also very good, and provides sufficient protection while the phone is in a front pocket (but heaven forbid that anyone put a Streak in their back pocket and sit down). I would use the Tuff-Luv case all the time if I could, but it hinders access to the home button, requiring multiple attempts to get it to respond, something that is NOT a problem with the Otterbox case. It would be great if someone could come up with a case that is satisfactory on all accounts, but we wait in hope. I am giving the Otterbox case only 4 stars because it is not particularly suitable for outdoor use (as it does not cover the screen). But in all other respects it is a top quality case.

I feel so much more comfortable knowing my Dell Streak is protected against damage. The surround fits well and protects the device against accidental falls and knocks. My only complaint is that it no longer fits into my car holder so I have to take the surround off which I can do quite easily so it's still fine.

The only case ive found made from silicone, which I prefer. The case is a snug fit with a lightly nobbly texture to the back which seems to act like the anti-slip mats you can get for car dashboards. The volume , camera and power buttons are covered over with little molded buttons(which line up fantastic). The cut-outs for the cameras,speaker etc are only as big as they need to be. My case also comes with a screen protector ,which does just what it says on the tin. The only negatives I can think of are : the case pretty much doubles the depth of the streak, and secondly otterbox packaging is totally over the top,so big it cant be posted through the letterbox.
