FAQ's:

1). Am I always connected to the navigation server when I use Navig8?
No, you are only actually connected for a few seconds at a time when you request searches, view maps or calculate routes. All the requested information is downloaded directly to your handset when you perform a search or route calculation. For long routes it can take up to a minute to download the maps for the route (if you request a long route Navig8 downloads the route in pieces of approximately 100 miles and re-connects to the server when you have used 100 miles of maps).

2). Why do I need an Internet account on my handset to use Navig8?
Navig8 is called an ‘off-board’, online or server based navigation system. This means that all information is stored centrally on a server, which avoids utilizing memory space on your handset. For example Navig8 will connect to the Navig8 server to retrieve information when you need to search for an address, or calculate a journey route.

The connection is handled by your handset via the Internet. To use Navig8 you must have the correct Internet settings on your handset. Contact our Navig8 helpdesk on 0870 78 79 603 who will be able to talk you through this simple activation process.

3). Which map information does Navig8 use?
Navig8 uses map information from NAVTEQ, the world’s leading digital map information provider. Since Navig8 is a server based solution, you will always access the latest version of the map information. The map information is updated quarterly.

4). What positional accuracy do I get with my GPS Receiver?
Your GPS Receiver typically positions with an accuracy of 15-30 feet.
