Having said that it is grey rather than clear, I tried putting some green paper between the black back of the phone and the case. I could see the green. hmm. I have created a small piece of paper with my name in white in a black background (matching the colour of the phone's back plate) and put this between the phone and the case. As long as the paper does not extend past the back plate, all that is visible is the white writing. Cool.
The case fits well, extending the width of the phone marginally, and provides good protection of the screen when placing the phone face down on a table.
