Doesn't Fit with Lightning/30-pin Connector
I've just received my Lightning/30-pin connectors and, as I suspected when I wrote my review above, they won't fit with the case in place - which gives the lie to Casemate's claim that you'll never have to take the case off. Unlike the Barely There case, the cut-out around the docking port isn't big enough and the extra protection means that the case is too thick to allow the connector to be pushed fully home in the port. The problem isn't insurmountable, though; with the aid of a sharp knife and small scissors, the gel insert can be carefully cut away around the speaker holes to allow the connector to be inserted fully. But, the customer shouldn't have to do this!
Not the Prettiest but Good Protection
I had a Case-Mate Barely There case on my iPhone 4 which has given good service. It looks stylish and gives the impression of quality and, true to its name, you barely notice it. It gives good protection, even round the vulnerable edges of the screen. I've dropped the phone on the odd occasion, although not particularly heavily, and the case has done its job.

For my new iPhone 5 I decided to try something with a bit more protection and chose the Case-Mate Tough Case. The case comes in 2 parts and is very easy to fit. The soft gel-type part fits first around the sides and overlapping the screen edges, and the assembly then pushes into the hard shell, which has a soft liner inside the back. The case adds a bit more weight and bulk than the Barely There but is not excessive. The shark skin finish of the case makes the phone much easier to handle, especially one-handed. There are cut-outs for the silent switch, Lightning connector, speakers and earphone socket, while the volume and power switches are protected by flexible covers. The case stands a little proud of the phone's base and I haven't yet tried it with a dock, but Case-Mate claim you'll never need to take it off.

I do feel that the Tough Case loses out a little in the style stakes because of its slightly larger size and the wrap-around on the screen edges. I would happily recommend both cases though, and it's a simple matter of preference. If style is of greater concern, go for the Barely There; if you're prepared to trade a little style for extra protection, choose the Tough Case. You're unlikely to be disappointed with either.
