Following the success of the XPERIA Arc and XPERIA Play, Sony Ericsson have bought out their next XPERIA model, the XPERIA Neo. What makes the XPERIA Neo really stand out from its competitors is its ergonomic, luxury design and its user friendly approach.

Boasting a curvy, glossy finish, the SIM Free Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo oozes beauty and sophistication just on looks alone; add that to what the handset has to offer inside and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the power the handset has.

SIM Free Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo

When using the unlocked Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo, watching movies and showing off media is easy with the handset’s impressive 3.7” screen and Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine. This makes your screen’s clarity crystal clear, which in turn enhances your viewing pleasure; especially when consuming media.

Add to this a high-resolution 8MP camera, complete with 720p HD recording capabilities and you’ll never have an excuse to miss an occasion again. The camera even utilises Sony’s award-winning Exmore R CMOS sensor, which increases the sharpness, brightness and over all quality of your images and videos, even in low-light conditions. This means your images and videos will always look excellent, even if you don’t consider yourself an expert behind the lens.

SIM Free Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo

In order to make the most of the HD recording capabilities the SIM Free Sony Ericsson Neo unlocked has, the handset is fitted with a HDMI connector, so you can share your moments with friends and family on any HD-ready TV.

Pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest version of Android, the XPERIA Neo also uses Timescape UI; which working side my side with Gingerbread, increases the usability of the handset. Now you can seamlessly keep up to date with what your friends are doing at a glance, with social networking apps and download thousands of apps from the Android marketplace ensuring complete user friendliness.

Costing just £359.95, the SIM Free Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo is the perfect phone for those who appreciate style and seamless usability.

Don’t forget to stock up on Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo accessories and a Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo case in order to add protection to the stylish handset.

The Xperia Play has been around for a few weeks now, so it’s time to put down the games and think of the other great features the phone has to offer.

Take this Official Sony Ericsson DK300 Multimedia Dock for instance. Not only does it dock your phone but it also doubles up as an Xperia Play charger and that’s only the beginning of it’s features.

Xperia Play Multimedia

The Xperia Play Charger is made especially for the phone, so you can be sure of a perfect fit and flawless compatibility, whilst docked. However the dock is not compatible with every Xperia Play cover, due it’s slim design; thin covers like the Flexishield will be compatible but bulky covers may have to be removed before docking.

Once docked, the Xperia Play turns into an amazing system, which allows you to see the date, time and weather at a glance or even play a slideshow of your photos; making the Xperia Play an alarm system and a digital photo frame on top of all it’s other features.

The dock also features a 3.5mm audio out port meaning you can plug your docked Xperia Play into your home stereo, so you can really make the most of your music and access your playlist easily through the home screen.

I know that there’s more ways to protect your phone than you can shake a stick at, but right now I’m going mad for leather and an Xperia Arc Leather Case.

There’s so many about, so I’ve chosen my three favourites, including a sneaky one which can be used with other phones too!

The first Xperia Arc Leather Case which caught my eye was the Krusell Orbit Flex Premium Leather Case.

Krusell Xperia Arc Leather Case

Not only is it super protective, but it has all the cut outs so you can still use you Xperia Arc whilst it’s in the case. Another great feature about this case is that it uses Krusell’s Multidapt system which opens up a world of possibilities when it comes to carrying your case – you can even clip it on your belt hook!

Number two on my list is the PDair Leather Flip case. It’s beautifully soft and traditional in style, making it a gorgeous day to day case, which keeps your phone well protected.

PDair Xperia Arc Leather Case

Like the Krusell leather Xperia Arc case , this case can be clipped onto your belt, but the PDair’s swivel fixing allows you to wear the case at any angle; or the clip can be completely removed. Your Xperia Arc will be nice and snug in the PDair case, due to their custom design for each phone model, so it won’t go slipping out!

Finally, my third and final choice; the sneaky one! I’ve chosen another Krusell model, but this time it’s the Croco Hector Leather Case, whihc can be used with a range of mobile phones.

Krusell Leather Xperia Arc Case

All you Fashionistas out there will rejoice at this case, as Kenzo and Yves Saint Laurent manufacturers had a helping hand in it’s design and style. What I really like about this case is that it looks like a clutch bag, so wouldn’t look out of place on a night out. The Nappa Leather used is soft and luxurious and the case even comes with a lifetime warranty!

As with all cases though, I’d suggest a Xperia Arc screen protector, just for added security and protection, as we don’t want to get scratches and smears on our shiny new phones!

Both the Xperia Play and the Xperia Arc launched last week, so here’s our first look at the official Xperia Arc and Xperia Play cases from Sony Ericsson.

Sony Ericsson SMA 7110 Pull Cord Pouch Case for XPERIA Play - Black/Grey

Sony Ericsson SMA 7113 Pull Cord Pouch Case for XPERIA Arc – Black

Pretty standard stuff, but with that touch of simple and bespoke elegance that you get from a top quality official case. The Pull Cord Pouch Case has a hard outside made from vinyl scuba material, to keep the Xperia Play protected from knocks and bumps, and a soft inner lining to keep it cushioned and unscratched. The inner lining is velvet, for that touch of class. A flap at the top keeps the device tucked away safely whilst not in use, and it’s easily removed using the simple pull tab.

The Xperia Arc case comes in black whereas the Xperia Play case is available in two-tone black/grey, with a stylish striped pattern.

Both cases are available via the main website, along with the SIM free Xperia Play and SIM free Xperia Arc handsets too.

It’s been a busy few days for the guys over at Sony Ericsson, with not 1, but 3 handsets being officially launced. The first – Satio, is the official name for the 12MP touchscreen ‘Idou’ that was announced back in February and is covered on a separate post.

The Idou certainly attracted a lot of attention at the Mobile World Congress, and the Aino & Yari will no doubt turn a few heads too.

First up then is the Sony Ericsson Yari. The name is unusual, especially as Sony Ericsson are known for using model numbers with letter prefix to determine the range the handset belongs to ( think W for Walkman, C for Cyber-Shot etc..), but as Sony Ericsson are moving towards a new ‘Entertainment Unlimited’ range, I suppose the naming rules had to change too. Anyway, back to the phone. The Yari is a Slide handset that is a strong all round multimedia handset, with a 5MP camera, HSDPA for faster Internet, GPS, 2.4" screen and support for 16GB memory cards.

The one feature though that makes this phone stand out though is something new called gesture gaming. I say new, gesture gaming has been around for a while, since the introduction of accelerometers anyway, but the Yari takes this a step further. As well as being able to detect movement and translate this into game controls, the Yari can use its camera to detect movement and translate them in to game moves too (similar concept to eyetoy for the Playstation 2). Add this to multiplayer support, and you’ve got a whole new gaming experience on a mobile phone. Sony Ericsson have tried to launch a gesture gaming phone before, the F305, but this had limited success, as most other features on the phone were quite low spec. Hopefully with the Yari having a better camera, more storage and faster internet, this will have more success.

The Menu system on the Yari has been given an upgrade too, you can now view your geo-tagged photos on a map on the phone using Google Maps and you can send your images directly to Flickr & Picasa. In a first, the Yari also has a fully featured Walkman music player, despite the handset not being branded as a walkman device, the camera too has most of the features that you would normally only find on a Cyber-Shot branded phone.

You can find a more detailed preview on the Sony Ericsson Yari at GSMArena.

The Sony Ericsson Yari is expected to go on sale around September 2009, Register your interest for priority stock availability.

Next up is Aino, a touch screen Multimedia phone with a twist & baby brother the Satio.

The Aino has been designed act as a streaming media player when connected to a PS3 Console, so once you are connected to your Wi-Fi network, you’ll be able to access and control any music, pictures and video stored on your PS3 on your handset. The Aino also supports DLNA for watching back your media on networked TV’s and PC’s (What is DLNA).

The Aino has some pretty impressive features: 3" Touch screen display with Numerica Keypad, 8MP Camera, Support for 16GB memory cards, GPS, HSDPA & Wi-Fi for faster internet browsing. The Aino is though to include a desktop charging stand matching Bluetooth Headset.

The Menu system is the same as is found on nearly all Sony Ericsson handsets, the only real difference is that parts of it are now touch controlled. The camera, the FM radio, the gallery, the Walkman and the video player are enabled for touch control, with the rest of the phone being controlled using the traditional D-pad.

As with the Yari, the Aino has a fully featured Walkman Player and Camera. The camera on the Aino though has a touch based interface and is capable of recording video at near DVD quality. You can also sync your content to the phone using Wi-Fi, rather than USB.

The Aino also has Wayfinder navigation software preinstalled, along with Google Maps.
